The Haring that begins today is named after WIM Ruth Haring. It was originally called the National Girls Tournament of Champions (NGTOC). Started in 2012, this year is the 13th edition.
Each state in the tournament sends one representative. If there is an odd number, the host state can send another one. The tournament is held simultaneously with the three representative tournaments of Denker (high school), Barber (junior high school), and Rockefeller (elementary school), every summer, together with the US Open.
